About
Baosaka
Baos in the Balinese language means specifically the ‘spoken word’. It intimates conversation. Saka on the other hand is a word that means ‘pillar.’ It carries with it the value of ‘support’. As a pillar supports something. `in architecture, this may be the roof or a higher level in the structure. Here, we bring conversations that aim to support or form shelters for ideas and positive initiatives to grow. An idea or a thought lies dormant unless it is spoken. Transformations can only happen with decisive action.
Cultures carry old wisdoms, often philosophies through spirituality and art have united peoples thinking from all over the world. however, we dont often think about the wisdoms passed on through our traditional architecture. Bali’s architecture is the architecture of spirit, carrying centuries of its spiritual and dynamic ethnic influences. BaosSaka serves as a space where we can rediscover the legacies passed down through generations. Bestowed to us through the world of traditional architecture
